2011 BMW S1000RR

Speed has to be kept under control. And motorcycle control is exactly what we have been constantly reinventing over the last 20 years. The S 1000 RR represents a milestone in electronic rider safety: ultra-lightweight ABS (2.5kg), which can be used in conjunction with the extremely efficient DTC dynamic traction control (available as an optional extra) – quite unique for 2009.

Racing ABS for all conditions
You couldn’t wish for a more discreet ABS; it has fine control intervals, is virtually imperceptible in its operation, and is light enough to satisfy fans of low-weight bikes.

DTC – transparent traction control you can rely on.
This dynamic feature reacts reliably and efficiently to speed, lean angle, and operating mode (rain, sport, race, or slick). It was specifically designed to be as effective on the road as it is on the racetrack.

Honda CB 1100

Honda CB1100 ReviewThere are plenty of retro bikes on the market but no Japanese offering comes across anywhere near as authentic as the CB1100.

Triumph’s current Bonneville and Thruxton models have been a huge success for the British brand and faithfully echo the 60s. Honda’s CB1100 is by far the most faithful of any attempt to recreate the charm of the 70s.

The new CB1100 has up until now only been sold in Japan so Honda Australia had very little information and images available prior to the machines landing Down Under early this month. After covering nearly 1000km on the new mount over the course of the last week it is fair to say that we now know the bike inside out.

Honda CB 600F Hornet

Motorcycle market for a successful season, the latest version of Honda CB600F Hornet, which launched in 2007, can be successful in sales is expected to increase. Ironically, the last Hornet 600 in the market, most coming from all, thanks to a new engine in the chassis CBR600RR years and really make a point, but well-deserved commercial success. Many low public acceptance, according to our opinion, not the opinion of upstream codons does not meet the desires of consumers loyal to the flowing lines and slender, pointed upward, while the tail of the target Hornet inevitable decline. Hornet new 2011 version is based on modern and sporty.

BMW R 1200GS

introducing the new BMW R 1200 GS and the new R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW Motorrad is opening up yet another chapter in the story of highly successful GS models which, for almost three decades, have been the epitome of the large-capacity grand touring enduro.

Moving on from the former generation of the R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure, which already offered supreme power and performance as well as a very broad range of practical riding qualities for long tours combined with supreme pleasure on winding country and mountain roads, BMW Motorrad is now enhancing this standard, as impressive as it already is, to an even higher level.

Intake and exhaust timing on the two camshafts has been optimised in particular for supreme power at low and medium engine speeds and for even faster, free-revving engine performance throughout the entire range. To increase the free valve cross-section, valve lift is up by 10.54 mm (0.415") on the intake and 9.26 mm (0.365") on the exhaust side to 10.8 mm (0.425") on both sides. Valve clearance is compensated by light semi-hemispherical shims.

BMW K1600GTL

Ever since BMW Motorrad presented the concept study Concept 6 in autumn 2009, the new 6-cylinder in-line engine installed in it has caught the imagination of many motorcycle fans. For over seven decades now, 6-cylinder in-line engines have stood for fascinating engine technology in automobiles at BMW more than with any other brand. With the new K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL, BMW motorcycles are now available for the first time with a 6-cylinder in-line power unit developed in-house. The two touring motorcycles have a supreme, impressive and equally distinctive appearance, creating a desire to travel at first sight.

Riding dynamics, long-distance suitability and comfort.

For decades, 6-cylinder in-line engines have exercised a special fascination. In addition to their perfect running smoothness they also offer supreme output and torque, giving the rider powerful emotional impressions.
In addition to safety, equipment and comfort, prestige and dynamic performance are the key criteria for a supreme touring bike. With the most compact in-line 6-cylinder engine in serial motorcycle production to date, the K 1600 GT and the K 1600 GTL penetrate a whole new dimension in terms of riding properties, long-distance suitability and comfort. They combine maximum agility and riding dynamics with a luxurious overall package. With an engine output of 118 kW (160 bhp) and a maximum torque of 175 Newton metres, their 6-cylinder engine provides superb propulsion in all conditions.

BMW K 1300S

BMW K1300S - Long Test Ride. Before dell'Intermot 2008 knew that the BMW K series would bring some news. The official spoke info for a facelift, the well-informed talking about an increase in displacement; once view, it was discovered that it was both but a glance you could not see the renewal and so profound - add - Successful who lived through the work of engineers from Monaco.

Growing displacement of almost 150cc, there are 8 new foals and 10 Nm more torque. Of course, these are just numbers but we will explain in part that tells our road test as the KS has improved as a whole. Change the transmission compartment that receives a new range of exchange - sore point of 1200 - and a new lever, now focused on the other side than before. Modified also reports the final drive. Other changes (Duolever lightened and extent of the rear tire) have helped to change cycling shares in favor of dexterity and feeling with the front wheel.

BMW K1300R vs Buell 1125CR

This isn’t, perhaps, the most awaited sportsbike shootout ever. We doubt if too many BMW loyalists would ever leave their beloved Bavarian machines and switch over to Buell, while fans of the all-American Buell aren’t very likely to ever defect to the BMW camp. Still, Motociclismo recently had the opportunity to pit the K1300R against the 1125CR, and here’s what they have to say about how the two bikes stack up against each other:

The technology that’s gone into these two bikes is as unconventional as their styling. The 176bhp K1300R uses shaft drive, the 146bhp 1125CR uses belt drive. The BMW uses Duolever front suspension, which you won’t find on any other bike, while the Buell’s perimeter disc braking system at the front wheel entails the use of a single disc – unlike all other large-displacement sportsbikes, all of which use twin disc set-ups at the front.

The BMW is the better bike for riding in the city, thanks to its anti-lock brakes (ABS) and optional traction control – things which provide a lot of reassurance during hard braking and acceleration. The riding position is pretty comfortable too, though your shin will often hit the BMW’s engine casing on the right hand side, when you put your feet down while coming to a complete stop.

Riding the Buell in the city gets tiring within a few kilometres – the high footpegs, and the shape and the positioning of the handlebar sees to that. But while it affects low speed comfort, the 1125CR’s sports-oriented riding position is perfect for high speed cornering.

BMW K 1300 GT Exclusive Edition

With the new special model K 1300 GT Exclusive Edition, BMW Motorrad sets a new milestone in the BMW world of experience Tour. With extensively upgraded fittings and a refined visual appearance it offers even greater travel suitability and exclusive "Gran Turismo" comfort at the very highest level.

Powered by a supreme 118 kW (160 hp) engine, the K 1300 GT Exclusive Edition benefits from heated grips and seat heating on cold days as well as providing optimum visibility for night riding with a xenon headlamp. The on-board computer provides travel-related data such as range, outside temperature and average fuel consumption and there is an electronic cruise control function for long stretches of motorway riding.
